IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur is among the pioneers in Rajasthan in imparting high quality education to women in different streams. With over 5500 students, the University offers UG, PG and Doctoral programmes in Arts, Science, Social Sciences, Commerce, Management and Computer Science & IT.
About Department
The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, established in the year 1999 offers programmes in Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communication and Master of Journalism & Mass Communication, and PhD programmes in Journalism. The courses offer an integrated approach combining theoretical knowledge of Mass Media studies and practical training through a well-equipped Audio-Visual studio and industry exposure. With a rich alumna base, the department has also introduced a new P.G. course: M.A. - Digital Media and Communication from the session 2022-23 and focuses on industry-oriented learning. Short-term courses in Radio Programme Production, Mass Communication and Video Production, and Post Graduate Diploma in Television Journalism are also offered. Documentary making, Film & Ad shoots, media quizzes, debates, discussions and photography excursions have been a regular part of the curriculum.
About Media Fest
The omnipotent, all pervasive media has been under the microscope for years, leaving multiple impressions and images in the minds of the audience. It is indisputable that the media has become an indispensable part of our lives.
So, to uphold the values of democracy and as pioneers of media education of this esteemed institution, it is our duty to keep the media in the spotlight. It is for this purpose that the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of the IIS University is organizing “VIVIDHA 2019”- a Media Festival with a difference.
“VIVIDHA 2019” will include a variety of academic activities, quizzes, and competitions covering all facets of fun and learning.It will provide budding actors, orators, film makers, photographers, journalists and dancers a platform to showcase their talent and win commendations. Challenging the pre conditioned mindsets of the students and exhorting them to take up newer challenges. The intercollegiate Media Fest urges students to aim for adaptability, creativity and creative evolution through lateral thinking.
